Alexander (Sandie) Logie Stalker was born in Aberdeen in 1920 and entered the University of Aberdeen as first bursar in 1937. He graduated MB, CH B with first class honours in 1942, and following house officer training in Aberdeen, served with the RAMC in North Africa, Italy and France.
